Title: Application Engineer Reports to: Director, Business Applications
Position Summary The Application Engineer is responsible for the daily management and operation of Clients Applications primarily including, but not limited to, Workday (Human Capital Management). A key responsibility of this role is to develop and continuously improve system integration adoption, ensure compliance with policy and regulations, and improve business performance. This position requires a unique blend of strong technical and business skills combined with customer-focused professional experience. You will bring a track record of strong follow-through and consistently keeping commitments to vendors and fellow employees.
Outcomes and Accomplishments As an Application Engineer, you will:
• Maintain and modify the configurations of the existing enterprise applications to meet the business requirements in the approved change request(s)
• Lead the design of Workday integrations from point-to-point systems as well as holistic interchange services rendering effective data quality and dependable exchanges of digital information
• Identify, assess, and solve complex business problems for integrating the Workday cloud application with external applications across a wide array of Human Capital Management and Financial functional areas, where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors
• Perform tasks in support of application upgrades, patches and new releases
• Monitor and manage the incidents reported to the Corporate Applications Helpdesk and take necessary actions/coordinate activities across different teams to address the incidents/issues
• Track common issues and work to address root cause
• Learn user functions, organization and role in the enterprise to the extent required
• Participate in various projects designed to improve overall operational efficiency
• Create and maintain procedural documents on how to perform enterprise application related tasks. • Engage with 3rd party vendors as required
Collaborate with HR, Payroll & Finance team to successfully deliver shared objectives • Build strong internal relationships with key HR, Payroll and other business leaders to define and understand strategic and tactical data requirements.
What You Bring:
• HRIS application administration experience, specifically with Workday HCM or equivalent
• Experience with implementing and maintaining Workday HCM integrations
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve application issues on critical production applications in an Enterprise environment
• Proactive self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives for a timely and successful conclusion
• Exceptional attention to detail, sound judgment and integrity
• Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Proactive engagement and a focus on continuous improvement
• Strong issue management skills to assist with issue identification and problem resolution
• Strong documentation, communication, and collaboration skills
• Demonstrates a customer-service oriented approach to problem solving and gathering feedback to determine continuous improvements • Experience with capturing requirements and documenting business processes
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
